"With the help of a sommelier-turned-winemaker, we're uncorking cocktails with a common ingredient – wine. After 15 years as a certified sommelier in the Denver restaurant scene, Jayme Henderson launched her blog, holly & flora, and cofounded (with husband, Steve Steese) The Storm Cellar, a winery in Colorado's North Fork Valley. 'By incorporating wine as a cocktail ingredient, you add complexity without a high-proof hit,' Jayme says. 'A well-balanced wine is delicious on its own, but adding wine to cocktails gives them a delicious, new twist.'"
"As a sommelier, you're seeing a finished product. You're selling somebody else's wine, which is amazing, but you're not the one behind the scenes making it. And we would tell the stories of farmers, of winemakers. It's almost like being a DJ – we wanted to create the music, to actually create the wine."
"From its humble beginnings, Holly & Flora has evolved into a space where blogger Jayme Marie Henderson documents the garden-based, culinary-inspired cocktails she crafts in her home kitchen. Each cocktail she creates has a story behind it, whether it's a twist on a classic or simply a drink that stemmed from a freshly picked ingredient or a new spirit she discovered. She shares musings on life and the happenings in her garden, alongside seasonal recipes. Her hope is to inspire others to incorporate the ingredients in their kitchen or garden into their cocktail glass. Cheers!"
"We took some time together and walked the property, and when we reached the most breathtaking vista, we knew in our hearts that this was the spot where we would realize our dream. As white wine fanatics, we fell in love not only with the incomparable views but also with an entire vineyard property dedicated exclusively to white wine varieties."

The Kitchn is a website, founded by Apartment Therapy Media, which inspires cooks and nourishes homes through daily recipes, home and garden tips, kitchen design, and shopping guides.
Spoke+Blossom magazine is the premier hub of adventure in Western Colorado and covers hiking and biking trails, local artists and businesses, and food and drink news, focused on the Western Slope.
Creating this blog began a journey into the world of writing and photography, and I've contributed to familiar publications and created recipes, photos, and videos for popular wine and spirits brands.
I am currently the cocktail columnist for the Western Slope's lifestyle magazine, Spoke+Blossom, and I have a syndicated column at the Kitchen, where I've contributed nearly 100 articles on wine education, gardening, and cocktail recipes.
While running the farm and making wine is my full-time job, I enjoy working with select brands on projects. If you are a drinks or lifestyle brand, and you have a need for content creation, recipe development, or lifestyle photography, I am accepting roles in a limited quantity for the 2024 calendar year. I'm happy to provide pricing options and a media kit upon request.
